After my first few Kundalini yoga classes (many years ago) I was hooked. I felt so good after class that I sung all the way home and hummed my way through the rest of the day. My mind was clear, and I was feeling lighter and happier than I had felt in a very, very long time. Although I had practiced Yoga, Autogenic Training, and Meditation on and off for over 20 years, Kundalini Yoga kindled an energy and connection in me that I had never felt before.
The only trouble was that I had to drive into Seattle to find classes, which was a challenge with my other commitments. I started practicing my favorite Kriyas (sets of exercises) at home, but it never felt quite the same as practicing in class with a group of people. And that is why I decided to offer Kundalini Yoga classes here on the Eastside: to hold a space where we can practice together, and to share these ancient teachings with as many people as possible, hoping it will bring health, joy, peace, and happiness to many more!
I am excited and grateful to be able to offer classes as a KRI certified Kundalini Yoga instructor. I am currently working on my KRI level 2 certification, which is a 2+ year process.
I am also a Reiki Master and practice Reiki both in person and over distance. I had the great fortune and honor to learn from Reiki Masters Akumi Tej Yokoyama, and William Lee Rand, who are both gifted healers and wonderful, wise teachers.
Giving and receiving a Reiki session is a wonderful experience - it is energizing, healing, relaxing, and humbling all at the same time - the energy flows so freely and lovingly. Reiki is especially powerful in one-on-one sessions, but I love to share it in my yoga classes too during relaxation.
Kundalini Yoga and Reiki are very beautifully compatible, because both work on restoring and increasing our life energy. I am thrilled to be able to offer both at Artemis Center.
Nature is abundant with healing energy - let's tap into it!
